SUMMARY:Lunch & Learn
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a webinar hosted by the ONE (Outreach-Networking-Education) Committee featuring guest speaker Shaun Bushman as he shares his insights on genetic research and his journey in the industry! \nDr. Shaun Bushman is a Research Geneticist with the USDA Agricultural Research Service in Logan\, Utah. In late 2004 he made his way to Utah and became a USDA scientist focusing on perennial cool-season grass genetics. He specializes in long-term research that focuses on stakeholder needs\, such as using molecular technologies to identify and characterize turfgrass cultivars. Shaun has a wonderful wife and four adult-ish children\, loves to fish and hike\, and restores vintage tractors.

SUMMARY:2024 Oregon Ag Fest

Our two-day event\, aimed to help families better understand where their food\, fiber and flora come from\, is a unique learning experience\, where hands-on exhibits make learning about Oregon’s vast agricultural industry educational and entertaining. \nWe strive to bridge the gap between urban and rural life\, and to share the wonder and abundance of Oregon’s bountiful and diverse harvest. Most importantly\, we do this in a family friendly way\, where kids 15 and under receive free admission\, and virtually all activities at the event are free of charge. Thanks to our sponsors\, kids ride ponies\, plant seedlings\, watch sheep get sheared\, pet farm animals and much\, much more! Come check it out for yourself: join us the last weekend in April for the 37th annual Oregon Ag Fest.
